Our Faculty Served as Teacher’s Training School for Girls during the years1967-1976 ,during 1976-1977academic year it was connected to the Faculty of Education as a 2-yearEducation Institute, in 1982 it was connected to Dicle University Facultyof Education and  named Siirt EducationSchool with the verdict of Law number 41. Our school’s aim is to raise classteachers who are needed in Primary Schools. Period of study, which was earlierfor 2 years, is raised to 4 years since 1989-1990 academic year. Our Facultywhich was connected to Dicle University with the verdict of Law number 41,continues educational activities in the buildings given by the Ministry ofEducation. Our 4-year School unit which raises teachers in the class teachingfield was named Siirt Faculty of Education with the Law numbered 3837 and dated07.03.1992. Our Faculty’s Class Teaching Department’s evening education wasopened to its educational activities with the University’s decision made in01.17.1996 dated hearing number 1.Again, within our Faculty, Primary SchoolMathematics Teaching Evening Education and Social Sciences Teaching were openedto their educational activities in the 05.28.1998 dated hearing number 7 withthe University Senate decision. 

Our faculty is connected to Siirt University which is established with theappendix clause 75 of the Law numbered 5662 published in the National Gazettedated May 29, 2007, and it serves with the name of Siirt University Faculty ofEducation.
